stories of former scythe blacksmiths,
show forging (Zainen and widths)

the special exhibition of the blacksmith
artist Gabriele Kutschera
"Forge # Time # Space" can be visited.

400 YEARS OF SCYTHE PRODUCTION IN THE ALMTAL

The 400-year-old tradition of scythe production in Scharnstein is brought back to life in the scythe museum. Former blacksmiths demonstrate the art of scythe forging with the help of faithfully preserved forge hammers.

Stories told by the blacksmiths allow you to immerse yourself in the working world, the social environment of the scythe workers and their living situation.

Scythe instructors show how scythes are sharpened and how easy it is to mow with a correctly adjusted scythe.
