WHERE BETTER TO COMBINE INDUSTRY AND CULTURE THAN IN THE STEYRERMÜHL PAPERMAKING MUSEUM
In the unique ambience of the former Steyrermühl paper mill, historical and contemporary topics relating to paper production are presented in a clear and understandable way using modern museum design. Social aspects of industrial history, environmental protection and the importance of the River Traun are also presented in separate sections.
The papermaking museum, which was founded in 1997, is the largest of its kind in Europe and impresses with its authentic setting in a former production building.
In the papermaking museum, you can experience the history of the precursors of paper through to the development of the modern paper mill. An exciting insight into the influences of industrialization on the world of life and work. This is a historical journey with contemporary references.
