The plant in Laakirchen was founded in 1990 as a branch of the main plant in Wimpassing. Since then, the plant has been continuously invested in. The last expansion stage was completed in 2019. By combining the areas of roll covering and roll service, the site offers a cost- and time-saving complete range of services for the paper industry.

The product range currently includes the production of thermal coatings and all types of roll service for all types of rolls used in paper machines, regardless of the manufacturer. In Laakirchen, new rolls of every roll type are manufactured and the complete assembly of new suction rolls is carried out in a special area. The Voith EvoStrech spreader roll has also been manufactured at the site since April 2017. A special feature of the plant's machinery is one of the most modern roll test benches in the world. Rolls with a length of up to 16 metres, a diameter of 2.5 metres and a unit weight of 120 tonnes can currently be processed on it.
