The local recreation area high above Gmunden
High above the beautiful town of Gmunden, the Grünberg invites you to experience nature with 20 kilometres of well-developed hiking trails, an idyllic nature reserve, great leisure activities and cosy places to stop for refreshments.
The Grünberg mountain railway takes you comfortably up to 1004 metres to the local recreation area on Lake Traunsee. The picturesque view of Gmunden, Lake Traunsee and the striking mountain backdrop of the Höllengebirge and the Traunstein, the "guardian of the Salzkammergut", can be enjoyed as soon as you take the cable car up the mountain.
The Grünberg offers leisure activities with the Grünberg-Flitzer summer toboggan run, adventure playground, low ropes course and a wide network of hiking trails, adventure, relaxation and fun for the whole family.
NEW - Grünberg Gang Adventure Trail: From summer 2024, interactive audio stations will tell the story of the Grünberg Gang and provide clues to solve puzzles. The adventure trail leads from the mountain station around the summit to the Laudachsee lake.
On the Salzkammergut treetop path, you can experience unique perspectives high above the forest floor with breathtaking panoramic views of Lake Traunsee and Gmunden. The offer is rounded off with signposted cycle paths, the paragliding launch site and the hiking trails to Laudachsee.
MUSIC - ZIACHBERG MUSIC
We are a young Quetschn duo from the Gmunden area and call ourselves the "Ziachberg Musi". Our repertoire includes numerous pieces by many well-known musicians.
From Pixner, Slavko Ausernik, WüderaMusi or Schürzenjäger to modern artists such as Josh, Andreas Gabalier, Gigi d' Agostino. Folkshilfe and LaBrassBanda are also on our list.
